GOING BACK TO BASICS
Strengthen your security with us
We’re living through the world’s largest home working experiment; security has to be reimagined to make it work.
Getting the foundation right
Cyber Essentials certifications aim to ensure you can implement the most fundamental IT security measures across your business, helping you to mitigate risk and keep your infrastructure secure.
The Cyber Essentials (CE) and Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) badges demonstrate that your business has implemented necessary security measures and taken appropriate steps towards minimising risk.
The Cyber Essentials scheme highlights the five basic cyber security controls that all business should be implementing:
- Secure connections to the internet
- Secure devices and configurations
- Controlled access to devices and data
- Protection from viruses and other malware
- Management of software patches and updates
We can help you gain these certifications and improve your security posture, keeping your valuable data safe and secure.
If you’ve not heard of phishing before, it’s a socially engineered scam that is used to obtain sensitive data, such as personally identifiable information, banking and credit card details, and passwords. Targets can be contacted via email, telephone or text message by someone posing as a legitimate institution. The information is then used to access company networks and important accounts, and can result in identity theft and financial loss.
More than 90% of cyber breaches are a result of successful phishing campaigns. These breaches can result in a loss of network functionality, degraded utilisation of hardware, and significant reputational damage. Phishing emails are responsible for threats entering networks and systems, providing intruders with a foothold from which they can continue their attack.
Our phishing vulnerability assessment is designed to boost awareness of risk and demonstrate how all employees can help to improve cyber security in the workplace, through better recognition of potential hazards. Right throughout the process, we’ll help you take control of your business, educate your organisation on common threats and mitigate the risk of a data breach.
Much like carrying out an annual MOT on your car, we recommend regular penetration testing for all businesses to ensure ongoing mitigation of risk. However, it is even more important if:
- You are undergoing digital transformation and introducing new technologies to the workplace
- You are transferring data off site, such as using cloud storage or outsourcing IT tasks
- You have experienced a breach in the past, or are unsure of your system network security.
Our tests identify possible ‘penetration points’; any vulnerabilities or gaps in IT security that could be exploited, leaving your business at greater risk.
The testing format is a simulated hack, undertaken by security experts. Once gaps have been identified in your systems and networks, we provide expert advice for strengthening your defences. We’ll find the gaps before anyone else does, giving you peace of mind and a clear strategy ahead.
